TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
The City of Rhome was awarded a $350,000 TX Community
Development Block Grant for the purpose of bringing the City of Rhome's Well No. 6 back online. The grant funds will be received in 2022.
In January 2021, the Council approved onboarding GrantWorks, Inc.,
a grant administrative service to assist in the endeavor.
The application was submitted May 3, 2021.
Grant Administrative services and Engineering Service
costs were contingent upon a successful
submission. The City of Rhome is responsible
for a 10% match ($35,000) that will go towards the project.

AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT (2021) FUNDING
American Rescue Plan Act (2021) is a federal program that offers $350 billion to help states, counties, and tribal governments to cover increased expenditures, replenish lost revenue, and mitigate economic harm from COVID – 19. As a city under 50,000 population (Non-Entitlement Units of Local Government/NEU) the City of Rhome was allocated $457,165. The ARPA funds were disbursed by tranches; the first one was in August of 2021 and the second one will be in August of 2022.
