MASTER PARKS PLANNING PROCESS
The City of Rhome and the Parks and Recreation Board initiated a Master Parks Planning process (2019) as an outtake of the recent Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2019 by the City Council. The City Council appointed members to a Master Parks Plan Steering Committee and they worked with a team from the Institute of Urban Studies on a Master Parks Plan. In addition to the recent online survey in which many of the residents of Rhome participated, the IUS Team is conducting their research, completing site inventories and analysis and developing conceptual plans.
During 2020 the IUS Team and the Parks Master Planning Steering committee conducted several public engagement activities including surveys and a series of focus group to gain additional input from City of Rhome residents. The focus groups were held between July 24 – August 9 on the Go To Meeting virtual platform due to COVID.
The IUS Team presented final report to the Rhome City Council, Thursday, October 22, 2020.
Rhome and its citizens are helping to shape future Rhome as an inviting, welcoming community, rich in heritage and quality of life amenities!
