Mayor and Council Members
The City of Rhome is a Type A - General Law city operating under the Aldermanic form of government. The term 'alderman' is often used interchangeably with the term city council, and the modern name of the Board of Alderman is the 'City Council'. The City Council is made up of the Mayor and five (5) Council Members; the Mayor does not vote except in the case of a tie. Council Members serve a two-year term of office.

Mayor Pro-Tem Michelle Tye - Place 2
Michelle Tye was appointed to Place 2, on January 20, 2021. She was re-elected in May of 2023. She holds a BAAS in criminal justice from Midwestern State and has been a police officer since 1993 where she works with her K9 partner, Nina. She has a vast knowledge in the law enforcement realm and supports management to procure grant funding for her professional division.
Randall Loftis - Place 3 - Elected May 2023
IT Consultant 40 years - Retired. Now serving the citizens of Rhome, TX. Member, Board of Directors, Rhome Community Library. Union Pacific Railroad - 16 years - Logistics programming, process reengineering, project management, budgeting. Georgia Pacific Corporation - 6 years - Management of teams with 20 or more personnel, responsible for budgets in excess of $22 million. TechDawgs Inc. - 18 years - Ownership of S Corporation. Responsible for all aspects of business; conception, business plan, finance, marketing, sales, and operations.
Kristi King - Place 4 - Appointed April 2023
Kristi King holds a Masters degree in Educational Administration. She was employed by Northwest Independent School District for twenty years, having served the last twelve years as the principal of Roanoke Elementary. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning and communication, organizational leadership, management and resource allocation. Mrs. King has lived in Rhome for 18 years with her husband and two children.
Kasey Shumake - Place 5 - Appointed January 2023
Kasey Shumake, Place 5, was re-elected in the May 2023 Election. He holds a B.S. in Biology and his currently finishing his Masters in Accounting at Texas A&M Commerce. He has worked for the City of Roanoke as a Police Officer since 2011. His areas of expertise include budgeting, municipal infrastructure, city strategic planning, and traffic management. He has a wife and three children.
