MASTER PARKS PLANNING PROCESS
The City of Rhome and the Parks and Recreation Board have initiated a Master Parks Planning process as an outtake of the recent Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2019 by the City Council. The City Council appointed members to a Master Parks Plan Steering Committee and they have been working with a team from the Institute of Urban Studies on a Master Parks Plan. In addition to the recent online survey in which many of the residents of Rhome participated, the IUS Team is conducting their research, completing site inventories and analysis and developing conceptual plans.

The next step is to gain additional input from City of Rhome residents. This is where YOU come in. The IUS Team will be facilitating three focus groups to gain more input, ideas and perspectives from our Rhome residents. These focus groups will be held between July 24 – August 9 and will be approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. If you are willing to serve an hour or so and contribute your ideas and perspectives, this is YOUR opportunity! Please email your name, address, phone number and email address to Tommie Eason, Chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee as well as Chair of the Parks Master Plan Steering Committee. Help us shape Rhome to be an inviting, welcoming community, rich in heritage and quality of life amenities!
